For full registration to the GIST OWL services, please register for the On-Campus Writing Center using the information below. Alternatively, you can register for each of the sections separately (the registration key is GISTOWL for all sections).

Note that only a valid GIST email address can be used in the registration of any section/service offered on this site. If you have any problems registering, contact John at: mcdonald@gist.ac.kr for assistance.

Scheduling Consultations and Registering for Services

Before scheduling an appointment online, faculty, staff, and students must first register as follows:
  1. Go to the http://gistenglish.com/ website, click on 'On-Campus Writing Center'. (Note: In the top-right-hand corner, you can switch the site language between English and Korean --> other languages can be added upon request.)
  2. You will then be asked either to login, or ‘create a new account’ --> please do so.
    • Fill in your GIST email address and full name (non-GIST email addresses will not be accepted into the system). Note that if you are a GIST member, but your email address is not 'gist.ac.kr' or 'nm.gist.ac.kr' and you want to register for these services, contact John (mcdonald@gist.ac.kr) for assistance.
    • An email will then be sent to you; again, you MUST use a valid GIST email address.
  3. Then, go to your GIST email account and click on the link there that asks you to verify your account.
  4. When you return to http://gistenglish.com/, you will be asked to enter a one-time enrollment key. The key is:
    • GISTOWL
  5. At this time, your basic registration is complete, However, it would be appreciated if you could add more information in the ‘Profile’ section, including:
    • Your picture (clear picture, taken recently)
    • Your department and lab names
    • Your cell phone number
  6. Appointments can be made by selecting the Instructor and time of your choice. Note that only 1 (ONE) 30-min session can be scheduled per week for each GIST member using this service.
  7. Feel free to post comments and ask questions in the forums included in each section.
